Season Overview
The 2006-07 season saw the club secure a third-place finish in the Premier League and win the FA Community Shield. The highlight of the campaign was a run to the UEFA Champions League final in Athens, where they were ultimately defeated 2-1 by AC Milan. In the 2007-08 season, Liverpool finished fourth in the league and once again had a strong European showing, reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League before being knocked out by Chelsea.
