Season Overview
The 2006-07 season saw the club secure a third-place finish in the Premier League. The team's most notable achievement was reaching the UEFA Champions League final, where they were ultimately defeated 2-1 by AC Milan in Athens. Earlier in the season, the club won the FA Community Shield, beating Chelsea 2-1. In other cup competitions, the team reached the quarter-finals of the League Cup and were knocked out in the third round of the FA Cup.
