Season Overview
RC Lens competed in Division 1 during the 2000-01 season, finishing 14th in the league. The club also participated in the Coupe de France, reaching the Third Round, and the Coupe de la Ligue, where they were eliminated in the Round of 16. In European competition, Lens reached the Third Round of the UEFA Cup. Rolland Courbis managed the team for the first part of the season, followed by Georges Tournay.

Notable players for this vintage football shirt season included forwards El-Hadji Diouf and Daniel Moreira, defender Cyril Rool, and attacking midfielder Antoine Sibierski. Goalkeeper Guillaume Warmuz was also a key part of the squad.
