Season Overview
The 2011-12 season was a record-breaking campaign for Real Madrid, often referred to as "La Liga de los Récords" (The League of the Records). The club secured its 32nd La Liga title, finishing the season with a record 100 points. The team also set new league records for most goals scored in a season with 121, the most away wins with 16, and the most overall wins with 32. In the UEFA Champions League, the club reached the semi-finals, where they were eliminated by Bayern Munich on penalties. The team's Copa del Rey title defense ended in the quarter-finals.
