Season Overview

Under manager Jan Wouters, Ajax finished a disappointing 5th in the Eredivisie during the 1999-00 season. The club reached the third round of the UEFA Cup and the round of 16 in the Amstel Cup. Hans Westerhof took over as manager for the final months of the campaign.

Key Players

The squad featured a mix of Dutch and international talent, including captain Aron Winter, Richard Witschge, and the Danish forward Brian Laudrup. Other notable players from the season were Cristian Chivu, Jesper Grønkjær, and top goalscorer Richard Knopper.
