The 2007-08 season marked Aston Villa's 16th campaign in the Premier League under manager Martin O'Neill. The club achieved a sixth-place finish in the Premier League, their highest league position since 1996, which secured qualification for the 2008 Intertoto Cup. Aston Villa exited both the FA Cup and League Cup in the third round during this period.
