Season Overview

The 2015-2016 season marked Aston Villa's 24th campaign in the Premier League and their 28th consecutive season in England's top flight. The club finished 20th in the Premier League and was relegated to the EFL Championship. Aston Villa reached the Fourth Round of the FA Cup, where they were defeated by Manchester City. In the League Cup, they also reached the Fourth Round, exiting the competition against Southampton. The season saw managerial changes, with Tim Sherwood initially in charge, followed by Rémi Garde, and interim spells by Kevin MacDonald and Eric Black.
