Season Overview

Under manager Luis Fernández, Athletic Bilbao finished the 1998-99 La Liga season in 8th place. The club competed in the UEFA Champions League, reaching the group stage, and were knocked out of the Copa del Rey in the Round of 16.

Key Players

The squad featured iconic captain Julen Guerrero, prolific striker Ismael Urzaiz, and the dynamic winger Joseba Etxeberria. Other key members of the team included Rafael Alkorta, Josu Urrutia, and Santiago Ezquerro.
