Season Overview

The 1995-97 period was one of contrasting fortunes for Bayern Munich. In the 1995-96 season, under manager Otto Rehhagel, with Franz Beckenbauer taking over for the final, they finished second in the Bundesliga but memorably won the UEFA Cup. The following 1996-97 season saw the return of manager Giovanni Trapattoni, who guided the team to the Bundesliga title.

This era featured a star-studded squad at the Olympiastadion. Key figures included the prolific goalscorer Jürgen Klinsmann, legendary goalkeeper Oliver Kahn, and the iconic Lothar Matthäus. The team also boasted talents such as Mehmet Scholl, Thomas Helmer, and Markus Babbel.
