In 1984, the Belgium national football team participated in the UEFA European Championship held in France. Under the management of Guy Thys, Belgium was drawn into Group 1 alongside hosts France, Denmark, and Yugoslavia. The Red Devils secured a victory in their opening match against Yugoslavia but ultimately did not progress beyond the group stage of the tournament.
