Season Overview
Under new manager Nevio Scala, the 1997-98 season saw Borussia Dortmund compete as defending European champions. The club made a strong run in the Champions League, reaching the semi-finals before being eliminated by eventual winners Real Madrid. In the Bundesliga, the team finished in 10th place.
Key Players
The squad was filled with legendary talent, including goalkeeper Stefan Klos, defenders Jürgen Kohler and Stefan Reuter, and midfielders Andreas Möller and Michael Zorc. The attack was led by the prolific Swiss striker Stéphane Chapuisat, who was the team's top scorer that season.
