Season Overview
The 1999 season saw Botafogo reach the final of the Copa do Brasil, where they finished as runners-up after a hard-fought campaign against Juventude. The second leg of the final at the Maracanã stadium attracted a significant crowd. In the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, Botafogo finished 16th in the league standings.
