Season Overview
During the 1993-94 season, Celtic finished 4th in the Scottish Premier Division and reached the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup and the second round of the UEFA Cup. The 1994-95 season saw Celtic again finish 4th in the Scottish Premier Division. However, it was a memorable season as the club won the Scottish Cup, their first major trophy in six years, defeating Airdrie 1-0 in the final. This season also marked their most recent without European competition, and all home matches were played at Hampden Park due to the redevelopment of Celtic Park.
Key Players
The team during this period featured notable players such as midfielder Paul McStay, John Collins, and Pat McGinlay, who was the top league goalscorer in 1993-94. Liam Brady, Lou Macari, and later Tommy Burns managed the club during these two seasons, with Burns leading the team to Scottish Cup success. Striker Pierre Van Hooijdonk also joined the squad during the 1994-95 season.
