Season Overview
The 1990-92 period was highly successful for Flamengo, marking a triumphant era for the club. They began by winning the Copa do Brasil for the first time in 1990, securing the title against Goiás. In 1991, the team went on to win the Campeonato Carioca and the inaugural Copa Rio. The pinnacle of this period came in 1992 when Flamengo clinched their fifth Campeonato Brasileiro title. They defeated rivals Botafogo in a two-legged final, winning the first match 3-0 and drawing the second 2-2.

This successful team was led by the legendary Júnior, who was a pivotal player in the 1992 league triumph at the age of 38. The squad also featured other key contributors such as Zinho, Nélio, and Gaúcho, who scored crucial goals in the 1992 final. The manager who guided the team to the 1992 championship was Carlinhos.
