Season Overview

The 2015-16 season saw Espanyol compete in their 81st year in La Liga, the top-flight of Spanish football. The club finished 13th in the league standings. Espanyol had two managers during this campaign, with Sergio González starting the season before Constantin Gâlcă took over in December 2015. In the Copa del Rey, Espanyol reached the Round of 16.

Key Players

Key players for the vintage football shirt era squad included striker Gerard Moreno, who returned to Catalonia that season, and Ecuadorian forward Felipe Caicedo. Midfielder Marco Asensio was also a notable presence during his loan spell, alongside captain Víctor Sánchez and goalkeeper Pau López.
