Season Overview

Extremadura competed in La Liga during the 1998-1999 season. They finished in 17th place, which led to a relegation play-off against Rayo Vallecano. The club lost the play-off, resulting in their relegation to the Segunda División. Rafael Benítez managed the team throughout the season.

Key Players

The squad included players such as goalkeeper Ronny Gaspercic and defenders David Castedo and Belenguer. Midfielders Toni Velamazán and Viaud were also key contributors. Upfront, Alejandro Duré and Iván Gabrich featured for the team under manager Rafael Benítez.
