Description

Season Overview

The 2007-2008 season saw FC Barcelona, under manager Frank Rijkaard, compete across multiple fronts. The club finished third in La Liga, behind Real Madrid and Villarreal. In cup competitions, Barcelona reached the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, where they were eliminated by Valencia. They also advanced to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, ultimately being knocked out by Manchester United. The season concluded without silverware for the Catalan giants.

Key Players

The squad featured a host of iconic players, including Ronaldinho, who was in his final season with the club, and new signing Thierry Henry. Emerging talent Lionel Messi continued to establish himself as a key player, alongside prolific forward Samuel Eto'o. Club captain Carles Puyol led the team's defense during this period.
