Description

Season Overview

The 2019-20 season marked FC Barcelona's 120th year in existence and their 89th consecutive campaign in Spain's top flight. The club competed in La Liga, Copa del Rey, Supercopa de España, and the UEFA Champions League. Ernesto Valverde began the season as head coach, with Quique Setién taking over in January 2020. Barcelona finished second in La Liga and reached the quarter-finals of both the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League. The season concluded without a major trophy for the club.

Key Players

The squad featured notable players such as Lionel Messi, who was a key figure in attack. Midfield maestro Frenkie de Jong, along with forwards Antoine Griezmann and Luis Suárez, were also prominent members of the team. Defensive solidity was provided by players like Gerard Piqué and goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen.
