Description

Season Overview

The 2004-06 period was a significant era for the Italy national football team. In 2004, under manager Giovanni Trapattoni, Italy competed in UEFA Euro 2004, where they were eliminated in the group stage. Marcello Lippi then took over as head coach in July 2004 and led the team through a successful qualification campaign for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Italy ultimately triumphed at the 2006 FIFA World Cup, securing the prestigious title.

During these seasons, Italy featured a squad of renowned talents. Key players included goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, defender Fabio Cannavaro, influential midfielder Andrea Pirlo, and attacking stalwarts Francesco Totti and Alessandro Del Piero.
