Season Overview

The LA Galaxy experienced a period of transition and notable individual performances between 2018 and 2020. In 2018, under managers Sigi Schmid and interim Dominic Kinnear, the club finished 7th in the Western Conference, narrowly missing the MLS playoffs. The 2019 season saw the arrival of head coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto, and the team improved to finish 5th in the Western Conference, reaching the Conference Semifinals in the MLS Cup Playoffs. The 2020 season, also managed by Guillermo Barros Schelotto before Dominic Kinnear took over as interim, saw the Galaxy finish 10th in the Western Conference and miss the postseason.
