Season Overview
In Jürgen Klopp's first full season in charge, Liverpool secured a fourth-place finish in the Premier League, ensuring qualification for the following season's Champions League playoff round. The club reached the semi-finals of the EFL Cup, where they were eliminated by Southampton. In the FA Cup, their journey ended in the fourth round with a defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield. The season began with a thrilling 4-3 victory away at Arsenal and concluded with a 3-0 home win against Middlesbrough to seal their top-four status.
Key Players
The team was managed by Jürgen Klopp. Key figures in the squad included Philippe Coutinho, who was the top scorer in all competitions, and Sadio Mané, who was the joint-top scorer in the league. The side also featured influential players such as Roberto Firmino, Adam Lallana, Georginio Wijnaldum, and James Milner.
