Season Overview
The 2022-23 season began with silverware as Liverpool defeated Manchester City 3-1 to win the FA Community Shield. The club finished 5th in the Premier League, securing qualification for the Europa League. In the domestic cups, the team was knocked out in the fourth round of both the FA Cup and the EFL Cup. Their UEFA Champions League campaign ended in the Round of 16 after a defeat to Real Madrid.
