Season Overview

The 2009-10 season saw Manchester City finish fifth in the Premier League, their best league position since the 1991-92 season, securing qualification for the UEFA Europa League. The club began the campaign under manager Mark Hughes, who was replaced by Roberto Mancini in December 2009. In domestic cup competitions, Manchester City reached the semi-finals of the League Cup and the fifth round of the FA Cup.
