Season Overview

The 2011-12 season marked Manchester United's 20th campaign in the Premier League under manager Sir Alex Ferguson. The club finished second in the Premier League, level on points with champions Manchester City, but ultimately lost out on goal difference. United began the season by winning the FA Community Shield against local rivals Manchester City.
