Manchester United competed in the Premier League, finishing second on goal difference to Manchester City, despite being level on 89 points. Under manager Sir Alex Ferguson, they won the Community Shield. In European competitions, they exited the Champions League at the group stage and the Europa League in the Round of 16.

Key Players

Wayne Rooney was the top scorer with 27 Premier League goals and 34 across all competitions. Key players included David De Gea, Patrice Evra, Rio Ferdinand, and veterans Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs, who continued to contribute under Sir Alex Ferguson.
