Season Overview

The 1997-98 season saw Porto win their fourth consecutive Primeira Divisão title, known as the "Tetra", under manager António Oliveira. They also secured the Taça de Portugal that season. For the 1998-99 campaign, Fernando Santos took over as manager, guiding the club to a historic fifth successive Primeira Divisão title, a Portuguese football record dubbed the "Penta". During these successful years, Porto consistently competed in the UEFA Champions League.

Key Players

Key players during this dominant era included prolific forward Mário Jardel, influential midfielder Zlatko Zahovič, and dynamic winger Sérgio Conceição. Other notable contributors to these vintage football shirt seasons were Capucho and Jorge Costa.
