Season Overview

The 1997-98 season saw Porto win their fourth consecutive Primeira Divisão title, known as the "Tetra", under manager António Oliveira. They also secured the Taça de Portugal that season. For the 1998-99 campaign, Fernando Santos took over as manager, guiding the club to a historic fifth successive Primeira Divisão title, a Portuguese football record dubbed the "Penta". During these successful years, Porto consistently competed in the UEFA Champions League.
