Description

Season Overview

The 2006-07 season saw Rangers FC finish second in the Scottish Premier League. The club reached the Quarter-finals of the League Cup and the Third Round of the Scottish Cup. In European competition, Rangers progressed to the Round of 16 in the UEFA Cup. The season also featured a change in management, with Paul Le Guen starting as manager before Walter Smith took over in January 2007.

Key Players

Notable players for Rangers during this vintage football shirt season included Kris Boyd, who was the top league goalscorer, and captain Barry Ferguson. Other key contributors to the squad were Charlie Adam, Nacho Novo, and Dado Pršo. Later in the season, defenders David Weir and Ugo Ehiogu joined the club.
