Season Overview

Under manager Jack Charlton, the Republic of Ireland competed in the UEFA Euro 1992 qualifying campaign, drawn in Group 7 alongside England, Poland, and Turkey. Ireland finished second in the group with 8 points from two wins and four draws, narrowly missing out on qualification to England who had 9 points. They scored 13 goals and conceded 6 during their unbeaten qualifying run.

Key Players

Manager Jack Charlton led a squad featuring experienced players such as Paul McGrath, Packie Bonner, and Niall Quinn. John Aldridge notably scored a hat-trick in a 5-0 victory over Turkey in the Euro 1992 qualifiers. Tony Cascarino also scored an equalizer against England in a 1-1 draw during the same campaign. Other key figures included Ray Houghton, Ronnie Whelan, and Steve Staunton.
