Season Overview

Under manager Abdoulaye Sarr, they finished second in their World Cup qualification group, missing out on a spot in Germany. In the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations, Senegal reached the semi-finals, ultimately finishing in fourth place after a defeat to Nigeria.

The squad featured prominent players such as midfielder Papa Bouba Diop, who scored in the AFCON semi-final, and forwards Mamadou Niang and Henri Camara.
