Season Overview

The 2011 season saw Shimizu S-Pulse compete in their nineteenth consecutive season in J. League Division 1, where they finished 10th. Under manager Afshin Ghotbi, the club also participated in the 2011 J. League Cup, reaching the second round, and advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2011 Emperor's Cup.

Key Players

Number 17 was worn by Australian centre-back Eddy Bosnar during the 2011 season. Other notable players in the squad included Genki Omae, Alex Brosque, Keisuke Iwashita, and Toshiyuki Takagi. Swedish international Freddie Ljungberg also joined the club in 2011.
