Season Overview

The 2011 season marked Shimizu S-Pulse's nineteenth consecutive season in J.League Division 1. Under the management of Afshin Ghotbi, who took over in February 2011, the club finished 10th in the J.League Division 1. Shimizu S-Pulse also participated in the 2011 J.League Cup and the 2011 Emperor's Cup.

In the 2011 season, Takuma Edamura wore the number 23 for Shimizu S-Pulse, playing as a central midfielder. Other notable players in the squad included Genki Omae, Alex Brosque, and Shinji Ono. The club also notably signed Swedish international Freddie Ljungberg during this period.
