South Korea competed in the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany under manager Dick Advocaat, where they were eliminated in the group stage, finishing third in Group G. The team also secured a third-place finish at the 2007 AFC Asian Cup, managed by Pim Verbeek.

Key Players

Forward Ahn Jung-hwan, wearing #9, was a key figure, notably scoring the winning goal against Togo in the 2006 World Cup. Other influential players during this period included Park Ji-sung, Lee Woon-jae, and Lee Young-pyo.
