Description

Season Overview

The 2018-19 season saw Southampton finish 16th in the Premier League. Mark Hughes began the campaign as manager, but Ralph Hasenhüttl took over in December 2018. In cup competitions, the Saints were eliminated in the third round of the FA Cup by Derby County and reached the fourth round of the EFL Cup before being knocked out by Leicester City.

Key Players

Danny Ings, wearing the number 9, joined Southampton on an initial loan from Liverpool for the 2018-19 season. He was a key attacking presence for the club. Other notable players in the squad included James Ward-Prowse, Nathan Redmond, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, and Jan Bednarek.
