Season Overview
The 2004-06 period saw the Spain national football team participate in two major tournaments. In UEFA Euro 2004, Spain, managed by Iñaki Sáez, exited the competition in the group stage. Following Euro 2004, Luis Aragonés was appointed as the new coach in July 2004. Under Aragonés, Spain successfully navigated the qualification campaign for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, securing their place via a play-off. At the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Spain reached the Round of 16.
Key Players
During these seasons, the Spain squad featured a blend of experienced stars and emerging talents. Key players included goalkeeper Iker Casillas, captain Raúl González, midfielder Xavi Hernández, and forward Fernando Torres. Other notable contributors were midfielder Xabi Alonso and defender Carles Puyol.
