Season Overview

In the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations qualification, Tanzania competed in Group 3 alongside Benin, Sudan, and Zambia. They finished last in the group with 0 points from four matches, scoring one goal and conceding nine, eventually withdrawing after five matches. For the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualification, Tanzania faced Kenya in the first round in late 2003, losing 3-0 on aggregate.

Key Players

During this period, Badru Hafidh managed the national team from 2003 to 2006. Notable players included goalkeeper Juma Kaseja and defender Mecky Maxime. Midfielder Selemani Matola was also part of the squad. Abdallah Rajab scored Tanzania's sole goal in the 2004 AFCON qualifiers.
