Season Overview
West Ham United experienced contrasting fortunes during the 2001-03 period in the Premier League. The 2001-02 season saw the club finish a respectable 7th under manager Glenn Roeder, also reaching the FA Cup Fourth Round. However, the 2002-03 campaign proved challenging, culminating in relegation from the Premier League, with Sir Trevor Brooking taking over as caretaker manager towards the end of the season.
Key Players
During these seasons, the squad featured notable talents such as the influential Paolo Di Canio and emerging stars like Joe Cole and Michael Carrick. Other significant players included forward Jermain Defoe, versatile midfielder Trevor Sinclair, and England international goalkeeper David James.
