Season Overview
The 2019-20 season saw Colombia impress at the 2019 Copa América in Brazil. They started the tournament with a significant 2-0 victory over Argentina, their first win against them since 2007. Los Cafeteros went on to top their group with a perfect record, winning all three matches against Argentina, Qatar, and Paraguay without conceding a single goal. Colombia was the only team to advance from the group stage with a 100% winning record. Their strong campaign came to an end in the quarter-finals, where they were eliminated by Chile in a penalty shootout after a 0-0 draw.
Key Players
The team was managed by Carlos Queiroz. The squad featured a blend of experience and in-form talent, led by captain and all-time top scorer Radamel Falcao. Key figures included creative midfielder James Rodríguez, striker Duván Zapata, who was coming off a prolific season with Atalanta, and goalkeeper David Ospina.
