Season Overview
The 1992-93 period saw Yokohama Marinos achieve significant success before and during the inaugural J.League season. In 1992, under manager Hidehiko Shimizu, the club won both the Emperor's Cup and the Asian Cup Winners' Cup, successfully defending their continental title. For the first official J.League season in 1993, Yokohama Marinos finished in 4th position.
Key Players
Ramón Díaz was a standout player, becoming the top goalscorer in the 1993 J.League with 28 goals. The squad also featured prominent Japanese talents such as defender Masami Ihara and midfielder Kazushi Kimura. Goalkeeper Shigetatsu Matsunaga and forward Everton were also key contributors during this era.
