Season Overview

Germany participated in UEFA Euro 2004, hosted in Portugal. Under manager Rudi Völler, the team was eliminated in the group stage, finishing last in Group D with two points after one draw and two losses. This marked their second consecutive exit from the European Championship at the first hurdle. Following the tournament, Rudi Völler resigned, and Jürgen Klinsmann was appointed as the new head coach in July 2004 to lead the team into the 2004-05 season.
