Season Overview

The 2016-17 season saw the Italy national football team compete in UEFA Euro 2016 and begin their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign. Under manager Antonio Conte, Italy reached the quarter-finals of Euro 2016. Following the tournament, Giampiero Ventura took over as manager, guiding the Azzurri through the initial stages of their World Cup qualifiers in Group G.

Key Players

The squad featured experienced leaders such as captain Gianluigi Buffon in goal, alongside defensive stalwarts Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci. Midfield general Daniele De Rossi provided a strong presence, while forwards Éder and Graziano Pellè were key attacking options for the team.
