Season Overview

The Netherlands national team co-hosted UEFA Euro 2000 in the summer of 2000, reaching the semi-finals before being eliminated by Italy. Managed by Frank Rijkaard, the team had a strong tournament performance, winning their group. Following Euro 2000, the Netherlands commenced their qualification campaign for the 2002 FIFA World Cup, but ultimately did not qualify for the tournament, finishing third in their group.
